Scope & Objectives
The Environment Agency is a Government run organisation that were established in 1996 to protect and improve the environment. They are responsible for regulating major industry and waste, treatment of contaminated land, water quality and resources and so much more. They have multiple offices around England with over 10,000 employees.
We were given the task to strip out their existing ventilation equipment at their Leeds office and replace it with new. We started working with The Environment Agency in December to carry out detailed designs for their new requirements.
Challenges
We had numerous issues with fitting all the plant into the area due to the size of the existing plantroom. This meant we had to site the plant in position, measure up all the ductwork to be built in position. The overall install was smart and effective though.
Solution
Due to the route into the plantroom from the main building we had to have the AHU delivered flatpack and built in situ on-site. We also had to carry out lab installs out of hours to ensure the disruption of labs and experiments wasn’t affected.
Results
Their new ventilation system now serves three floors within the building including the laboratories and the offices.
Norvent have worked on a number of Public Health England’s fume extract systems, carrying out both remedial works and project works which have always been completed to a high standard, whilst causing as minimal disruption to our laboratories as possible. They are always on-site promptly should we require their services and can always be relied upon. It certainly makes our lives easier to know we have their support should we need it.
